The Once and Future Ambassadors
A digital anthology of youth empowerment and collective action
INTRODUCTION
"The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it."
Since 2006, the MMUN program has inspired tens of thousands of youths from around the world to act as ambassadors of United Nations member states. As students learn to research, create, present, debate, and collaborate, they also embark on a journey to better understand the world's most pressing challenges, and each other, at a pivotal time in their lives.
Every year, these former MMUN ambassadors return home forever changed by what they have unexpectedly felt in their hearts and learned by firsthand experience. They have become global citizens, taking action, creating change, and inspiring others in their local communities.
This digital anthology is an ongoing effort to collect the personal stories and transformative moments of former MMUN ambassadors, whose actions serve to remind all of us to ask ourselves:
What part of the planet is yours to save for future generations? For whom or what are you an ambassador in your community?
